Docs / Balance
Using Ordeo
Read your private balance and why it grows
Add up every note your keys can open and you have your shielded balance. ORDEO notes are counted in vault shares, so the balance rises as the vault grows.
Finding your notes
Every new note on chain comes with a ciphertext. Your browser tries to open each one with your viewing key. The ones that open are yours. The app then checks which of them are already spent, using nullifiers only your spending key can compute, and adds up the rest. Nothing about this scan is sent to a server as your balance; the keys stay in the page.
Shares and ORDEO
A ORDEO note holds vault shares. The app converts them to ORDEO using today’s share value. Each donation of ORDEO to the vault raises what a share is worth, so the same note shows a higher ORDEO balance without any transaction from you.
ETH notes hold wei and stay the same. Public ORDEO in your wallet stays the same too; only shielded ORDEOearns.
Where to look
- /app shows your shielded and public balances side by side.
- /history shows your past activity.
- /analytics shows pool-wide figures once the pool is live.
What can go wrong
- Balance is empty after reload. The keys were forgotten with the page. Sign again.
- Balance differs between devices. Make sure both devices used one wallet and one passphrase. A different passphrase gives different keys and different notes.
- A payment has not appeared. Wait for the transaction to confirm, then refresh the scan.
