Using Ordeo
Staying private: habits that keep your notes unlinkable
The cryptography hides which note is spent. Your habits decide whether timing and amounts give it away anyway.
What is hidden and what is not
Hidden: which notes were spent, who paid whom and every balance. Visible: shields and buys from a wallet, key registrations, unshield destinations and amounts, sale payouts and the bundler’s flat fee.
Your address stays off a private send, unshield or sale only when the bundler submits it. Submitting from your own wallet shows your address as the sender.
A small set at launch
A spend could have come from any note in the tree. At launch there are few notes, so there are few candidates. The set grows as more people shield, which is one reason holder yield is paid only to shielded ORDEO.
Habits
- Vary amounts. Do not unshield the exact amount you shielded.
- Vary timing. Leave time between going in and coming out, and do not follow a schedule.
- Use the bundler. Let it submit your sales, unshields and private sends.
- Leave through fresh addresses. Send unshields and sale payouts to an address with no history tied to you.
- Stay shielded. Pay others privately instead of unshielding to pay them.
- Think before registering. Registration links your address to Ordeo in public. A private address does not.
Protect your keys
Only sign the Ordeo message on ordeo.tech. Consider a passphrase, and store it somewhere safe: without it, notes made with it are lost.
